The team at the Lakewood Meadows development on Lodge Way embraced the fundraising spirit, adding a colourful touch to the working day while helping to shine a spotlight on breast cancer and the important work of Breast Cancer Now.

As the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now funds world-class research and provides life-changing support to those affected by the disease. Its annual Wear It Pink event encourages workplaces, schools and communities across the UK to wear pink and raise money to help improve the lives of people affected by breast cancer.

Since its launch over 20 years ago, Wear It Pink has raised more than £45 million to support Breast Cancer Now’s work, funding vital research and helping ensure that people affected by breast cancer receive the support they need.

Ben Kalus, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We believe in making a positive difference in the communities where we build new homes and supporting charities such as Breast Cancer Now is an important part of that commitment.

“It was fantastic to see the team at Lakewood Meadows get involved and embrace Wear It Pink by swapping their usual PPE for pink alternatives. It’s a simple but meaningful way to raise awareness and funds for a charity that makes such a difference to so many people.”

The team’s colourful efforts have helped shine a spotlight on this important cause, with Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands contributing £200 to support Breast Cancer Now’s vital work.
