Elsewhere, Peterborough PAL enjoyed two excellent victories at the Smokey’s ABC boxing show in Tilbury, Essex.

First into the ring was 14-year-old Oliver Plumb, competing at 48kg against an unbeaten opponent from Rockets Boxing Club. Facing a confident home favourite, Plumb produced a composed and determined performance, demonstrating excellent boxing skills and maturity beyond his years to claim a points win.

Luigi Pragliola (17) was also in action and he made a memorable competitive debut at 64kg against a tough opponent from Lowestoft ABC. His accurate punching, controlled aggression and impressive combinations saw him dominate all three rounds, forcing the referee to administer two standing eight counts before a comfortable points win was confirmed.

A couple of the club’s younger boxers were in action at the St Ives Boxing Club show.

And another young debutant Reuben Gregory (12) lost a close decision in a show at Maldon, Essex.
