The city side had won 54 of those matches as they romped to titles at Division Four and Division Three level. They jumped up two divisions in time for the 2026-27 season, but still won their first six games of the season.

But a glorious run came to shuddering halt as Louie Venni and Lee Croft both scored twice for Ketton. Joe De Lucis replied for Thorpe Wood who remain top of the table, two points clear of their conquerors.

Stanton Reserves were also big winners in the basement division, 9-1 at Deeping United with Todd Enfield scoring four.

In Division Three there was a first win of the season for Glinton & Northborough Reserves as Harrison King hit a hat-trick in a 5-4 success over Moulton Harrox Reserves, and the club’s first team also collected their first three-point haul in Division One. They beat fellow strugglers ICA Sports 4-3 with goals from Oliver Cole, Isaac Drew, Jack Saggers and Jack McKenzie.
