Peterborough United fans name Nathan Thompson as their star man of the 2020-21 season so far, but who did talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham pick?

The PT asked fans to nominate their star man in a season that is now 25 matches old.

And Thompson picked up almost 40% of the votes. The 30 year-old has played in 15 matches and scored twice, at Northampton Town and at home to Rochdale.

Star midfielder Jack Taylor and reliable goalkeeper Christy Pym were joint second with 18% of the vote.

Other players to pick up votes were Frankie Kent, Joe Ward and Jonson Clarke-Harris and Siriki Dembele.

A selection of fans’ comments as told to @PTAlanSwann on Twitter...

The PT player grades will be online tomorrow (December 30).

Clarke-Harris, awful at everything apart from scoring goals. The best possible replacement for Toney.

Kent hardly ever puts a foot wrong.

Thompson probably has the highest win % of the ones who’ve played. Scored at Wobblers also.

@ffsposh

Ward trained so hard alone during lockdown, and when playing put some great crosses in. Now injured and fighting hard to get back to full fitness again. Always committed and gives 100%

@jeanneventers

Thompson. Slight question mark over disciplinary record, but otherwise top quality and massively missed when injured.

@kezze weave

I’d say Taylor. Thompson and Ward aren’t a million miles behind, with Dembele and JCH contributing well up top too!

Thompson by some distance for me. Defence is a shambles when he’s missing. Our biggest threat from the right too!

@Pearsy4

Thompson, Pym or JCH

@Tomo40Posh

Jack Taylor

@talkSPORTDrive

I don’t agree with Adrian Durham (above) that much but he’s definitely right in that Taylor has a shout - as do Thompson and Ward.

@dantjackson21

Thompson for me as you can really tell when he’s absent from the team and he rarely puts a foot wrong when playing. Do think Taylor is a great second shout too

@kelansarson.

Pym. He was brilliant early on and has been really consistent throughout.

@buckrodgersposh

Thompson is sheer class

@Poshman

Pym, Thompson just behind.

It’s Taylor by a country mile. We missed him when on international duty. Definitely a midfield general in the making.

@Bully1934

Pym - effective and increasingly commanding his defence. All those in front of him clearly trust his judgement which helps the whole team.

@TobyWoody

JCH. Big shoes to fill and though not in Toney’s league, 12 league goals in 18 games is a superb return in a team that most would agree has never got going.

@PoshTroll

JCH. He’s received a bit of stick for not being Ivan Toney and for scoring a few penalties, but give him the service and he’ll score 25 goals.

@DazMoody

Thompson or Ward.

@Doc_Ray

Pym has put an indifferent start behind him and been ultra reliable in all aspects of his performance.
