Peterborough United host Hull City in a battle between sides who both won promotion to the Championship last season (February 26, 3pm).

Hull did so with Grant McCann and looked well set to remain in the division under his leadership.

That was until a change of ownership and it was decided that he would be replaced by Shota Arveladze.

He has his chance to take his revenge today as Hull are the opponents for his first game back in charge of Posh.

Follow the action on the PT live log below.

LIVE BLOG: Posh vs Hull

Key Events

  • 3pm kick-off
  • Grant McCann’s first game in charge
  • Posh could complete a league double
  • The sides came up together but Hull are 13 points better off (20th)
  • Hull have won 1 in 7 under Shota Arveladze

Cliff Byrne out leading the Posh warm up. No sign of Etherington but academy coach Ryan Semple is out there too and looks as if he may have earned himself a promotion .

Two changes from Wednesday for McCann’s first game in charge. Morton and Marriott come in for Clarke-Harris and Grant. Almost certainly a back three, little surprise in that.

Matt Ingram, Brandon Fleming, Jacob Greaves, Sean McLoughlin, Alfie Jones, Richard Smallwood, Regan Slater, Greg Docherty, Keane Lewis-Potter, George Honeyman, Tyler Smith

Subs: Harvey Cartwright, Mallik Wilks, Ryan Longman, George Moncur, Tom Huddlestone, Di’shon Bernard, Liam Walsh

Steven Benda, Harrison Burrows, Frankie Kent, Ronnie Edwards, Josh Knight, Joe Ward, Oliver Norburn, Reece Brown, Sammie Szmodics, Jack Marriott, Callum Morton

Subs: Dai Cornell, Bali Mumba, Hayden Coulson, Jeando Fuchs, Jorge Grant, Ricky-Jade Jones, Jonson Clarke-Harris

Nearly time for the teams

Hayden Coulson returns from suspension but McCann has remained tight-lipped about the rest of the squad. Particularly Thompson, who missed the trip to Fulham. He may return.

Hull hope goalkeeper Matt Ingram will be available after being taken off with quite a serious concussion against QPR last week.

Elsewhere, Marcus Forss has joined fellow forwards Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and Tom Eaves on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in the defeat against Barnsley.

Posh’s owners have their say on the new boss

This is one of Posh’s few chances to secure a league double (there is still Millwall and QPR to come) after victory was secured away at the KCOM in October.

Jack Taylor gave Posh the lead with a stunning strike from outside the box after receiving a pass from a corner. Terrible marking gifted Hull the equaliser in first-half stoppage time.

It was probably deserved as Hull were mcuh the better side but Posh stole it in the second half through Siriki Dembele after Josh Magennis put a penalty in row Z.

The only time Posh have won away all season.

Cliff Byrne will be in the dugout today, Matthew Etherington, maybe not

Fresh history for McCann in League One and he had a newly-promoted side well set to stay up. Good signs heading into his Posh return.
