Ramsey CC in a fight for survival, Bourne chasing top spot, T20 Final coming up

Ramsey are facing a fight to stay in the East Anglian Premier League for more than one season

‘The Rams’ were promoted to the elite division after winning the Cambs Premier Division title and then a couple of play-off games last season.

But Ramsey have now lost five top-flight games in a row to slip to next-to-bottom and that could easily become six of the worst on Saturday as they visit unbeaten leaders Horsford.

Ramsey should avoid finishing bottom as they are 52 points head of Frinton, but second bottom could be involved in a play-off depending on the number of regional champions who apply for promotion.

Ramsey lost by 10 wickets to high fliers Copdock and Old Ipswichians at Cricketfield Lane last weekend. Sandun Weerakkody top scored in Ramsey’s 197 with 53.

Peterborough Town’s faltering Northants Premier Division season takes them to Geddington tomorrow. Town travel to the team in third after losing three top flight matches in a row for the first time in 17 years. Oundle host a Kislingbury side who can field multiple professionals with a connection to Northants.

Bourne are up to second in the Lincs Premier Division after being awarded a win in last weekend’s abandoned game at Grantham. The pitch was deemed unsafe by the umpires after just seven overs of play.

Bourne, who host Woodhall Spa tomorrow, are just two points behind leaders Scunthorpe who entertain Burghley Park.

Newborough seek their first Stamford T20 Cup win when tackling Burghley Park in the Shield KO Final at Ketton Sports on Monday. Newborough lost the Stamford Charity Cup Final by one run to Oundle Town last week.
