Flood warning lifted as Peterborough road re-opens to traffic - but more rain is on the way

The Environment Agency (EA) has lifted the flood warning for North Bank in Peterborough - and the road is now open to all traffic.

Due to the flood warning, North Bank - which runs alongside the River Nene - was closed from 7pm on January 16 between Northey Road (Bedford Cottages) and North Side (Dog in a Doublet) until further notice.

Today (January 22) it has been lifted and the road has re-opened.

However, Peterborough City Council says that with heavy rain forecast over the coming days, “a new flood warning may be issued”.
