The OFSTED registered and CDMT recognised school runs every Friday from 9am to 3pm during term time, the programme offers focused vocational training alongside students’ existing education and dance commitments. The programme supports young dancers who are passionate about performing and ready to progress beyond their regular weekly classes.

Small teaching groups and individual feedback help students develop their technique, confidence, musicality and artistry within a supportive environment. Based at Peterborough One Retail Park, the school benefits from purpose-built dance facilities, including five spacious studios, sprung flooring and full-length mirrors. The setting gives young performers space to develop their skills, rehearse and work creatively together.

The Vocational Day School works in collaboration with a dancer's home studio, and aims to complement, rather than replace their existing dance training. Students learn from qualified and experienced resident faculty, alongside visiting industry professionals who introduce different styles, choreography and approaches to performance. This combination provides consistent technical guidance and opportunities to experience the expectations of the wider performing arts industry.

As an RSL Approved Centre, the school can offer recognised and regulated qualifications in dance performance and teaching, providing opportunities for students to gain formal recognition for their learning. Students also have opportunities to work towards IDTA examinations, with examination pathways considered in collaboration with their existing dance teachers to support their individual training goals.

The dancers recently showcased their work at the Can You Dance? Super Convention Main Stage in Liverpool on Sunday 18th October. Performing alongside other talented young dancers, they gained valuable experience of preparing for a major dance event and presenting their work to an industry audience.

With a focus on individual development, The Vocational Day School helps young performers build a strong foundation for their future ambitions, including further vocational training and potential careers in dance and performing arts.
