Man jailed after £200,000 cannabis haul found in 'overweight' van in Peterborough
Police discovered a £200,000 cannabis haul and remnants of a cannabis factory when they stopping an overweight van on a Peterborough road.
A man found in the white Mercedes Sprinter box van was later jailed for three years and four months for being involved in supplying cannabis, police say.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Road Policing Unit spotted the white Mercedes Sprinter box van travelling southbound on the A1 at Norman Cross on March 2.
“The van was pulled over at the DVSA weighbridge in Sawtry and passenger Gjok Ndrevetaj told officers it was carrying commercial waste.

“A check in the back of the vehicle uncovered eight boxes containing cannabis with a street value of up to £200,000 plus plant pots, soil, clippings and heating equipment boxes.
Ndrevetaj (33) of Heygate Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison at Huntingdon Law Courts on October 20 after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
