New commercial units planned following demolition of storage buildings in Peterborough
Plans to create four new commercial units in an industrial area of Peterborough have been submitted.
An application has been submitted to Peterborough City Council for the demolition of existing storage buildings and the creation of four new commercial units at St Eaves House, Newark Road in Fengate.
These units would then be available for rent on the open market.
The units will be of varying sizes to accommodate different business requirements and market demands and feature solar panels on the roofs.
The application states that “the new units will be modern, high-quality commercial spaces that will attract and retain businesses, generating employment and economic activity within the local area.
“The proposal makes efficient use of the existing site layout and retained hardstanding. By replacing low-value temporary structures with permanent, rentable commercial units, the scheme delivers substantially improved value and functionality from the same land area.”
In conclusion, the application states: “The scheme supports economic growth and job creation through the provision of new commercial units available for rent on the open market.
“The design demonstrates good practice through contemporary aesthetics, appropriate material selection, and careful consideration of the surrounding context. The specification of neutral colour finishes ensures integration with the commercial environment .”
