Outdoor gig for Peterborough's Club With No Name
Since its beginnings, in the back room of The Boys Head pub on Oundle Road in 1999, Club With No Name have hosted somewhere in the region of 2,000 plus shows locally, in venues across the region and indeed further afield, but mainly focusing on Peterborough, where they are based.
The venues they have used range from ...the back rooms of pubs, to working men's social clubs, on a boat, in a converted church and even on one occasion in the promoter’s front room! But all these gigs ...have all been indoors.

Now, on the last Saturday of August (29th), they are officially offering you ...Outside! Their first outdoor show will take place in the gardens of The Limetree, on Paston Lane PE4, and they've got (as you might only expect, where CWNN is concerned) a really eclectic mix of music lined up.
Headlining the event will be the two tone ska legends The Beat, fronted now by Ranking Junior, who has taken over the lead vocal duties since the sad passing of his father Ranking Roger in 2019 and keeping the legacy alive. They'll be bringing all the classic hits to the stage including: Tears of a Clown, Mirror In The Bathroom, Hands Off... She's Mine, Can't Get Used To Losing You, Too Nice To Talk To and many more.

Also playing the event will be Canned Pineapple, a hotly tipped "scuzz pop indie" band from Brighton, and Black Dog Murphy, a Peterborough-based band who play twisted off-kilter surf blues.
Brazilian born / London-based Thiago Trosso will also be there with his new solo folk punk project.Trosso, for those who don't know, is a founding member and sax player in both Abraskadabra and The Popes Of Chilli-Town.
Cambridgeshire's very own ethereal shoegaze dream pop idols SnowDeer will also be playing alongside Echolalia, a new Peterborough-based trio that look set to melt your mind with their own unique brand of Funk Fusion.
And then there's Aunt Spiker; recently reformed, this band last played CWNN 25 years ago.

There are a couple more acts to be confirmed and maybe a couple of surprises in store too.
The CWNN outside event, has been curated by Chris Lovell, the founder of Club With No Name. Chris was presented with a civic award for his contribution to Art and Culture in the city earlier this year. Famed for giving Kasabian their first ever gig (And, yes! ..that was here in Peterborough!) he has brought many other bands to the City, including: Keane, The Kaiser Chiefs, The Damned, The Fall, The Selecter, Bad Manners, Athlete, John Otway, UK Subs and many others.
Outside! takes place on August 29 at The Lime Tree pub from 3pm..
