Peterborough United's point-saver was delighted to share his special moment with the club's fans
Peterborough United goalscorer Vernon Masara was delighted to share his special moment with the club’s fans on Saturday.
The 19 year-old winger claimed his first Posh goal in dramatic fashion at Bromley yesterday as a composed 93rd minute finish rescued a point for his team. It finished 1-1 after Posh had trailed from the 10th minute onwards.

It was a first Posh goal for a player signed from Burnley in the close season and it happened right in front of the soaked and cold 835-travelling fans at Hayes Lane. That proximity gave Masara the perfect opportunity for a knee slide celebration.
Masara told the Posh Plus service: “It was a great feeling to get my first goal. It was a different experience for me to celebrate in front of fans who were shouting my name. I thank everyone who travelled to the game to watch.
“In the moment I didn’t think too much about what I was going to do when I received the ball. Instinct took over and I went round the goalkeeper to score. I had a chance to score a bit earlier and Brandon Khela told me to be more composed when the next one came along and that advice really helped me.
"We deserved three points not one because we attacked constantly in the game.
"All the wingers are working hard on delivering better crosses. We need to aim for that spot between a goalkeeper and a defender because we know our strikers will be there to score. We want to cross balls that the goalkeeper can’t come out for and defenders don’t want to touch it.”
Masara delivered the dangerous cross that enabled Matt Garbett to score another last-gasp leveller at home to Burton Albion last weekend.
