He is yet to make his professional debut and his only experience of men’s football so far has come in a one-month loan spell with FC United of Manchester.

Masara was highly regarded in the Burnley youth ranks, he won their Academy Player of the Year in 2023/24 and sat on the first team bench at 16 but he feels now is the time to get his career started.

He said: “I’m very excited to make the move. It’s a big thing to move away from home but it is the next step in my career and it is an opportunity I had to take. It is the time for me to stap away and pave something for myself and Peterborough is the way to do that.

“I had a great ten years at Burnley but its time to take the next step and coming to Peterborough was the right step for me. It’s a well-renowned club where I know I will get the opportunity to show what I can do. I will show that on the pitch.

“I like to play off the left, through the middle, on the right, just getting in and around the ball and attacking and being direct. It’s what I love to do.

“I really love watching players like Neymar, Doku; players that are attacking threats.

“I have found it a really easy place to settle into. It will be a good challenge to be around the environment and see what first team football is like; being properly involves. It will be good to see different strategies and ways of football I probably haven’t seen before.

“It’s a chance for me to develop and really see what could really make me go forward in the game. I am not going to put too much pressure on myself, I’m just looking to be as direct as possible.”
