Luton Town boss happy to find a way to beat a spirited Peterborough United side

Luton Town boss Jack Wilshere praised his players for finding a way to beat a spirited Peterborough United side at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday.

"The Hatters’ won 2-0 with early goals in both halves. It was a fourth straight League One win which propelled Luton up to fourth ahead of a tough trip to leaders Huddersfield Town on Tuesday (November 3).

Wilshere said: “It wasn’t our most consistent performance, but credit to the lads for finding a way to win. We knew Peterborough would start well so we had to match that and then show our quality which we did with an early goal.

"But we missed other chances to put them under pressure because our transition play wasn’t always on point. It was the same in the second-half when we again didn’t build on an early goal, but we kept a clean sheet away from home which was pleasing.

“You have to accept that all teams at this level will have spells of pressure and we had to dig deep and defend the box well which we did. We want to force teams out wide and then deal with the crosses and we did that very well.”
