Peterborough United host Sheffield United in the Championship at the Weston Homes Stadium this evening (5:30pm, January 29).

There could be a couple of new faces of show. Callum Morton will be looking to build on his impressive cameo against Birmingham, while there is a chance that Jeando Fuchs could be involved, despite only arriving yesterday.

Posh will be hoping to avenge being for hitting six at Brammall Lane in September.

Taylor, Norburn, and Burrows are all thought to be injured. However, it is now known that Norburn wants a move away. We will be sure to ask Ferguson after the match about that one in particular. Beevers also drops out of the squad.

Looks like it could still be a back three, with Tomlinson, Kent, Knight, Thompson and Mumba.

15 minutes until the teams

Posh may feel comfortable being at home but Sheffield United will probably feel more comfortable being away. They have failed to catch fire in their quest to return to the Premier League and sit 12th, nine points off the play-offs. This can largely be put down to their home form. They only have the 19th best home form. Scoring 17, conceding 11 and taking 17 points from their 11 games.

A record that is still actually better that Posh’s, who have taken 16 points from 12 games and is the 20th best. Fortunately for Posh, Reading, Cardiff and Barnsley have all taken fewer home points.

In contrast, Sheffield United have the 7th best away record in the division.

It’s not been a busy window for Sheffield United so far. 17-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international Connor Barratt has joined from Birmingham and Stoke stopper Adam Davies has joined for £250,000. He was a chance to make his debut today but it would be a surprise if they did not stick with Wes Foderingham. Michael Verrips, their previous sub keeper was allowed to return to home to the Netherlands.

IN

Connor Barratt (Birmingham) undisclosed

Adam Davies (Stoke) £250,000

OUT

Regan Slater (Hull) undisclosed

Michael Verrips (Fortuna Sittard) loan

Oliver Burke (Millwall) loan

Maybe this is best forgotten on second thoughts but Posh were hit for six when they travelled to Bramall Lane in September. They fell behind but hit back through a breakaway goal from Jack Marriott and even had a chance to go infront after the break but were denied by a double save.

It then descended into a familiar pattern, Posh conceded twice in two minutes (51 and 53) and (68 and 70) and added a sixth in stoppage time. A penalty, that should hever have been given, was put away by Jonson Clarke-Harris but it went no way to saving the match.

Sheffield United will be without Morgan Gibbs-White, who was outstanding on the day, in this match and Posh will expect to produce better at home.
