Red-hot Chilean striker

It must be said that Blackburn’s lofty position in the table is in no small way thanks to Ben Brereton-Diaz.

The 22-year-old has been in the form of his life ever since his call-up to the Chile national team, and adding the Diaz to the end of his name he goes by on the pitch. He was 14 in his 18 league matches this season, before this season he had just 17 goals in 133 Championship games.

Sam Gallagher is second in the scoring charts but has yet to play this month due to injury and they are set to be without creative midfielder and Leeds loanee Ian Poveda for an extended period now so it could be really be all about Diaz tonight.

Tony Mowbray’s side come into this one on the back of a decent run. Three wins and a draw out of five and have to be commended to putting a 7-0 home mauling against Fulham behind them so quickly. They started well and were unlucky with a couple of handball decisions but a red card to Jan Paul van Hecke saw it all go downhill very quickly. #

They have recovered, however, and sit in 8th, just 2 points behind QPR in the play-off places.
