LIVE BLOG: Blackburn Rovers vs Posh

Key Events

  • 7:45pm kick-off
  • Posh looking to end run of four without a win
  • Joel Randall could return to the squad after injury
  • Ben Brereton-Diaz has 14 goals in 18 league matches
  • Blackburn sit 8th and have won three of their last five
  • Only 5 teams have conceded more than Rovers this season, Posh being one

John Brooks is the man in the middle tonight. The last time he reffed Posh, it was that unbelievable night at the Valley in November 2017, when Posh had a 2-0 lead in stoppage time but managed to concede twice and draw 2-2.

The last game he took charge of also saw a remarkable comeback, Cardiff stormed back from a 3-0 half-time deficit with 3 goals in 5 second half minutes away at Stoke in their first game after Mick McCarthy was sacked.

Yesterday’s results

Not many sides within striking distance of Posh played last night but Reading’s defeat keeps them within range and Posh could leapfrog them into 20th with a win tonight.

Blackpool 0-0 West Brom

Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Middlesbrough 1-2 Preston

Nottingham Forest 0-0 Luton

Reading 0-1 Sheffield United

We go again on the road. This time it’s a trip to Blackburn after a improved but pointless trip to Stoke. Posh will have to ensure they don’t switch off against the other form striker in the league, like they did against Aleksandar Mitrovic and give the red-hot Ben Brereton-Diaz a look at goal as he doesn’t need a second invitation this season. Find out how they get on right here.
