Darragh calls for Posh’s big players to wake up

Posh need no introduction to Coventry’s dangerman as they sold him to the Sky Blues.

Matt Godden was always regarded as a good option at Posh but few believed he would ever step up to be the the main man that would score the goals to lead Posh to promotion. He got 14 as Coventry benefitted from the season called off due to Covid as they were handed the league title and only got six goals in his first Championship season but he has hit a purple patch this season.

He has 8 in 16 this season and looks on for a strong tally, while leading the line with Swede Viktor Gyokeres, who has nine in the league.

Posh will be boseted by the fact that lively wingback Ian Maatsen is injured but will still cause problems through Callum OHare and Gustavo Hamer, who have impressed in the midfield this season.

Posh set to stick with Szmodics

A reminder of where we stand form wise. Albeit not in the most convincing style, Posh picked a vital win against Bristol Rovers last time out and are now going for three home wins in a row. It’s sandwiched in the usual terrible away form but Posh have not lost in their last four home matches.

Coventry also won their FA Cup tie (against Derby) but but in a slump of their own. They have not won any of their last six league games, drawing four and losing two. It has dropped them down from 4th place, closing in on the leaders to tenth.
