Big pre-season win for Eye Juniors FC as they win brand new team kits from Iceland Foods

Young footballers at Eye Juniors FC will be stepping onto the pitch with an extra layer of confidence this upcoming season, after winning brand new team kits through Iceland Foods’ nationwide ‘Kits for Kids’ campaign.

The grassroots club has been a cornerstone of the local community in Eye for the last nine years, offering an inclusive and positive environment for any young person who wants to get stuck into football.

The ‘Kits for Kids’ campaign was launched as research revealed that 86% of parents say rising living costs are making it harder to support their child’s football dreams, while many grassroots teams rely heavily on fundraising and community contributions to afford essential kit.

The Eye Juniors team works to keep the costs down for local parents so that every child who wants to play football can get involved, working with kit sponsors where possible.

Now, thanks to Iceland’s initiative, Eye Juniors will head into the new season feeling confident, united and proud in their brand-new playing strip.

Guy Chaudoir, chair at Eye Juniors, said: “Eye Juniors is integral to our community in Eye, making a real impact on the lives of young people that live in our small village.

“This year we’ve seen our first U16s team finish the season that we’ve worked with from the very beginning, all the way from when they were U8s, and that’s what it’s truly all about. Watching the teams grow together in confidence, as their friendships build over the wins and losses, has been a real privilege.

“Winning the ‘Kits for Kids competition’ has been brilliant. As our teams grow up and score (and save) more goals each season, it’s important to keep them feeling confident in new kits and we can’t wait to run out in our new strip this season."
