A number of people have been injured in a collision involving two vans and two lorries in Peterborough.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “We were called just before 9.30am today (16 Sept) with reports of a collision on the A16 roundabout near Dogsthorpe, Peterborough.

“Officers and paramedics have attended the scene of the collision, which involved two HGVs and two vans.

“Multiple people have been injured as a result of the collision, but further details are unclear at this stage.

“The road has been closed while the incident is being dealt with.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to the A16 in Peterborough at around 9.25am today following reports of a collision. We sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officer vehicles, three hazardous area response team vehicles and an air ambulance from Magpas. We treated several patients at the scene and transported two by road to Peterborough City Hospital for further assessment and care.”

The road is closed in both directions between the A47 roundabout at Dogsthorpe and the B1443 roundabout for Newborough

Motorists should avoid the area.
