Former cinema in Whittlesey to be converted into homes and retail units development
A former cinema in Whittlesey is to be converted into a development of new homes and retail units.
Plans have been approved to create four flats, four terraced homes and two retail units from the building currently standing at 24-30 Market Street in Whittlesey.
Each flat will have one bedroom each while each house will have two bedrooms and will be created following the demolition of the existing buildings.
13 on-site parking spaces would be provided.

The planning statement adds: “The proposed layout is designed to be in keeping with the form and character of this area of Whittlesey, which has a mixture of liner frontage development and development in depth.
The site is currently home to three retail units and a function room.
It was previously home to The Cinema Place, which opened in 1916 and was rebuilt in 1934. The building was renamed to the Super Cinema Palace before closing its doors in 1968.
