Why you should visit this ‘old-school’ Fenland farm shop with ‘great value’ veg that not many people know about
The shop is located between Whittlesey and March
This summer has been particularly tough for farmers, which is why we should all be doing our bit to support them.
With the countryside surrounding Peterborough home to hundreds of farms big and small, plenty of local farmers have been impacted by this summer’s scorching temperatures and lack of rain.
For many farmers, this summer’s harvest looks set to be one of the least-successful in living memory.

Some will have seen entire fields decimated over the past few months, ruining hundreds of hours of hard graft.
One of the best ways to support our local farmers is to buy their produce directly from source at farm shops.
Some farm shops are located in swanky new buildings with adjacent cafes, while others are a bit simpler.
One Fenland farm shop has made a name for itself for selling good, honest local produce at reasonable prices.

With plenty of fresh summer vegetables now on its shelves, this August is the perfect time to visit.
Why Lincoln Farm Shop is worth a visit this summer
Lincoln Farm Shop isn’t somewhere you’ll have driven past accidentally.
The farm itself is located deep in the Fenland countryside, nestled just off the A605 east of Whittlesey.
Tucked away down Duncombe’s Road, just before Holloway’s Bridge, customers will agree that there certainly aren’t any airs and graces associated with Lincoln Farm Shop.
With tractors and other farm equipment scattered around, the ‘field to fork’ mantra could never be more applicable. Offering customers a range of quality meats and fresh produce, the farm shop has established a strong customer base despite its isolated location.
At this time of year, customers can expect an array of seasonal veg such as runner beans, tomatoes and new potatoes.
In just a couple of months time the shop will begin offering sacks of potatoes - perfect for those hearty winter meals.
Open between 10am and 2pm on Fridays and 10am to 4pm on weekends, Lincoln Farm Shop is well worth a look this summer.
