Magical Christmas on the cards at Peterborough's Flag Fen

There will be a programme of Christmas experiences designed to bring people together at the archaeology park over the festive period.

Taking centre stage is Festive Feast & Fun with Mrs Christmas, a special experience inviting families into a world of festive fun on 5, 6, 12 and 13 December.

Designed to delight little ones, this immersive Christmassy adventure is packed with activities, treats and special surprises from beginning to end.

Children can join Mrs Claus for gingerbread biscuit decorating before sitting down to enjoy a delicious festive feast, complete with sandwiches, cakes and hot chocolates.

The adventure continues outdoors, where families can toast marshmallows over the crackling fire before following a magical Christmas trail through Flag Fen to discover the Christmas workshop. Here, little ones can create their very own cuddly teddy bear to take home and treasure.

And, of course, no Christmas adventure would be complete without a little help from the man himself.

Father Christmas will make a special surprise visit, taking a short break from his busy toy-making preparations to meet the children, with a special hand-wrapped gift for each child.

Discover the Winter Solstice Fayre

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December, from 10am to 4pm, Flag Fen will welcome visitors to its Winter Solstice Fayre, where they can browse a selection of stalls showcasing unique handmade gifts, crafts, festive treats and Christmas novelties. From finding something special for a loved one to treating yourself to a little something, the fayre offers the perfect opportunity to discover independent traders and pick up those all-important last-minute Christmas presents.

For those feeling curious about what the future might hold, visitors can also discover tarot card readings and palmistry, adding a touch of mystery and intrigue to the festive celebrations.

The Father Christmas Experience will run on both days of the Winter Solstice Fayre, with bookable family time slots available. Booking to meet Father Christmas also includes entry to the Winter Solstice Fayre.
