Fundraiser launched to help Fenland family make special memories in the time they have left with their daughter

A fundraiser has been launched on behalf of a Fenland family to help the to make precious memories with the time they have left with their daughter.

A fundraiser has been launched on behalf of the Newell family from March to help them to make memories with their daughter Abigail in her final weeks with her siblings and family members.

Abigail has sadly been diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia on top of a number of other conditions including Spina bifida, epilipsy and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Unfortunately, she is unable to have curative treatment and Abigail’s family have opted for her to have palliative chemotherapy to give her a bit more quality time.

Abigail is currently receiving care from the palliative care team from the Norfolk Hospice.

Friends of the family have said: “The oncologists and haematologist have been exemplary and have looked for the best treatment options for Abigail.

“Abigail is currently having Vin Christie and high-dose steroids as a treatment plan. They are uncertain if this will buy much time but they are hoping to make some lovely memories with Abigail over the next few weeks, with their other children and themselves.

"Abigail’s parents will for the foreseeable future be travelling to Addenbrookes at least weekly for chemotherapy and having one day in Queen Elizabeth for further treatments.

"All donations will be used to make precious memories for Abigail and her family.”
