Two closed Peterborough pubs appeal for new landlords
Two closed Peterborough pubs have put out an appeal for new landlords.
Large banners have appeared on both The Wortley Almshouses on Westgate and the Botolph Arms on Oundle Road appealing for people interested in running a pub to get in touch.

The banners read “Put the pub back at the heart of the community. Apply to manage this pub. Salaried position. Free accommodation.
Both pubs are owned by the Samuel Smith Brewery ans are known for their strict rules such as no mobile phones, no music and no swearing allowed. The brewery has been known to close premises suddenly it founds out are breaking these rules.
It is believed that a covenant will prevent the building being used for any other purpose, therefore, the pub has been boarded up and vacant ever since.
The landlords at the time said: “It’s not the fault of the management or any other reason, it is just very simple that the business is not making enough money.”
