Funk royalty and pioneers of the 90s Acid Jazz scene The Brand New Heavies are bringing their 2021 tour to Peterborough.

The band, who have sold over 2.5 million records, achieved 16 UK Top 40 singles and released two double Platinum-selling albums as well as picking up Best Dance Act at the 1994 BRIT Awards and an MTV Award for Best R&B Video for ‘Dream on Dreamer’. .

Pioneers of the London Acid Jazz scene, The Brand New Heavies, have been responsible for some of the UK’s biggest R&B / Soul tracks, scoring sixteen top 40 singles including ‘Dream On Dreamer’, ‘Never Stop’, ‘Dream come true’, ‘Midnight at the Oasis’, ‘Brother Sister’, ‘You are the Universe’, ‘Sometimes’, ‘Stay this Way’ and ‘You’ve Got A Friend’.

The Brand New Heavies released their last album “TBNH” (Acid Jazz) in autumn 2019, which featured guest appearances from Beverley Knight, N’Dea Davernport, Angie Stone, Siedah Garret, Laville, Angel Ricci and more. The lead single from the album is a cover of the Kendrick Lamar song “These Walls” lovingly produced by Mark Ronson.
