Superb silver medal for emerging mountain bike star from Yaxley
Emerging mountain bike star Bethany-Ann Jackson won a superb silver medal at the UCI MTB World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Yaxley teenager finished second in the under 23 short course XCC race before finishing a creditable 10th in the Cross Country Olympic XCO event.
Jackson was responsible for the first British medal of the Championships. She was in the mix throughout, holding her own in a select lead group before powering to the line well ahead of the third place finisher. She couldn’t quite catch winner Monique Halter from Switzerland.
Jackson was never in a worse position than in the cross country competition to cap an excellent Championships.
Jackson is raising money to fund upcoming trips to the United States for World Cup events.
