Six out of six for 'Demolition' Dan and a hat-trick of titles for impressive Ismail
Ten year-old Dan Connors of Topyard Boxing Club has already won his first six competitive fights.
His latest victory came at the St Ives show against a taller and older boxer Khalil Sharif of Jabxing. Connors shrugged off those advantages by using slick footwork to create clever angles and to land the cleaner shots.

Connors shaded the first round and came on strong towards the end of a cagey second round to pile the pressure on. The final round saw both boxers give their all. They both landed decent shots, but Connors took the points win.
Top Yard’s Ismail Arif (16) claimed his third Eastern Counties title with a points win over Harry Anderson from Sudbury BC in the U50kg competition in Basildon, Essex.

It was the 16th fight of Arif’s career, but his first tackling three, three minute rounds. He spent the first round establishing his range while picking off his opponent with 1-2 punch combinations.
Anderson stepped up the pace in the second round, but Arif had an answer for everything and landed shots from all angles. Arif became even more dominant in the final round, bloodying Anderson’s nose and landing several head shots before his inevitable victory was announced.
Arif and clubmate Wazir Durrani now face the winner of Southern Counties heats on Sunday again in Basildon.
