As Ferguson only resigned 11 months ago, the majority of the players were brought to the club by him. In fact, given Posh’s tendency to return to previous managers, there are no players in the squad that were not brought to the club by either Darren Ferguson or Grant McCann!
Below the Peterborough Telegraph takes a look at the relationships between Ferguson and the current Posh squad and how each player is likely to fair.

13. HARRISON BURROWS
Did Fergie sign him? No as Burrows came through the youth ranks, but was at the club for the entirety of Ferguson's third spell in charge. Ferguson was the one who said Burrows could be a number 10, something we briefly saw earlier this season under McCann. With Ferguson likely to want to see Butler back in the side, Burrows could be getting more opportunities in midfield. Ferguson was forced to use him at wing-back last season due to the lack of options. Photo: Joe Dent

14. HECTOR KYPRIANOU
Did Fergie sign him? No. McCann from Leyton Orient in summer 2022. Ferguson loves a ball-playing midfielder, but Kyprianou could be threatened by the return of Norburn among other things. Ferguson may be looking for someone who can look after the ball slightly better and someone who is tougher in a challenge so Kyprianoiu might struggle to play much under the new boss. 15. JACK TAYLOR
Did Fergie sign him? Yes from Barnet in summer 2020. Did Fergie he play? Taylor's own hamstrings are the only thing that has kept him off the pitch since he signed for Posh. Ferguson spotted his talent, which should have carried Posh to promotion a year sooner than it did. A certain starter no matter who the manager is, but one who should be happy Ferguson has returned as his role might not now be so restricted. Expect to see him getting into penalty area more often now. Photo: Joe Dent

16. BEN THOMPSON
Did Fergie sign him? No. McCann in summer 2022. Thompson was McCann's first summer signing, but had fallen out of favour with the boss well before there was a change of manager. He will likely welcome a fresh chance to impress. Ferguson may admire his energy as long as he can provide quality as well. Thompson might remind him of one of his previous promotion heroes, Dean Keates. Photo: Joe Dent
