Some turned into damp squibs, but others went on to enjoy excellent careers at Posh and elsewhere.
9. LUKE JAMES
James joined Posh from Hartlepool for £500k in September, 2014 and scored on his debut as a late substitute in a 3-2 EFL Trophy defeat at home to Orient. 10. BRITT ASSOMBALONGA
Striker Assombalonga (pictured) was a million pound signing from Watford in July 2013 who scored the only goal of the game on his debut on the opening day of the 2013-14 League One season against Swindon. He's now playing in Turkey with Adana Demirspor.
11. TYRONE BARNETT
The first million pound signing in Posh history made an instant impact following his move from Crawley in February 2012 as he bagged the last-gasp equaliser in a 1-1 Championship draw at Doncaster on his debut. He is pictured celebrating that goal. But it soon went downhill. Barnett scored 12 goals in 63 Posh appearances before, after several loan spells away from London Road, joining AFC Wimbledon. Now at Eastleigh in the National League.
