Portsmouth lined up with a very defensive wingback formation in the first half and asked Posh to break them down. Burrows produced the moment of magic needed with a cross from a corner which MacGillvray palmed onto his own defender’s back.
In the second half, Pompey came forward but Posh survived the aerial assault.
RATINGS KEY: 10-Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very poor.

9.
SIRIKI DEMBELE: Struggled badly, was crowded out on numerous occasions and failed to find a good ball from the few crossing opportunities he got. Still a surprise to see him come off early though as he is Posh's most gifted player on the ball, which they needed. 5.

10.
HARRISON BURROWS: Almost had a goal to his name, produced a wicked ball in from the corner which MacGillvray only just stopped going straight in. His physicality and ability to get on the ball will have to improve is he is to become a number 10 in the future though. 7.

11.
JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS: Was a long night for the league's joint top scorer, he was often isolated with three big centre-halves keeping a close eye on him. Not as effective without the support of Dembele close-by. 6.

12.
MO EISA: (on for Dembele 63) Chased everything when he came on and worked himself an opening which MacGillvray fumbled slightly. Posh did look better going forward after he came on. 6.5.
