Portsmouth lined up with a very defensive wingback formation in the first half and asked Posh to break them down. Burrows produced the moment of magic needed with a cross from a corner which MacGillvray palmed onto his own defender’s back.
In the second half, Pompey came forward but Posh survived the aerial assault.
RATINGS KEY: 10-Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very poor.

NIALL MASON (for Reed, 83 mins): Asked to play in defensive midfield again but this time had the benefit of 11 men. Still played like a wing back at times, flying up the field to overlap, didn't cost Posh though and he made some good interceptions high up the pitch. 6.5.
14.
FRAZER BLAKE-TRACY: (for Burrows, 89 mins) Good to see him get a run out, not played much after a solid campaign last year. Held the ball up well in the corner, victim of an incredible decision to award a goalkick while doing so. 6.

DARREN FERGUSON: Made the brave decision to stick to his word previously that Burrows is best as a 10 and he'll say he got his rewards. Also reacted quickly to Pompey's defensive tactics and ditched the back three for a four. The Dembele sub was greeted with raised eyebrows but Eisa did just as well if not better. 8.
