But, like every other year, 2020 has thrown up many Posh related heroes and villains ...

HERO: Ivan Toney played 11 games for Posh in 2020, scored 11 goals, and lifted himself close to the top of the charts of the greatest players in the club's history. His huge transfer fee has helped Posh through a tough summer and the club will cash in big-time again soon judged by his sensational form in the Championship this season. Photo: Midlands

VILLAIN: Ivan Toney. Yes, really. Okay very much tongue-in-cheek, but if the big man hadn't picked two daft cautions in successive matches towards the premature end of last season he wouldn't have missed two games, Posh would have picked up six points instead of one, and they would have been second when the season finished and won promotion to the Championship! HERO: Peter Burrow. The furry Posh mascot has kept the kids entertained during lockdown. Mr Burrow had been a popular feature of the impressive school initiative before the virus arrived, but he's kept busy. His Christmas was spent hosting Joe Wicks-style PE sessions for youngster through the miracle of modern technology. Photo: Midlands

VILLAIN: iFollow. Just when the streaming service needed to be at its best as it offered fans the only way to watch a game live, it bombed too frequently. My timeline on matchday was often busy with moans and groans about iFollow. The service had a captive audience, but was often found wanting.
