But, like every other year, 2020 has thrown up many Posh related heroes and villains ...

HERO: Barry Fry. He's 75, he's had two heart attacks, his BMI is not perfect, but he fought off a bad dose of Covid thus adding weight to the argument the virus is not deadly enough to keep everyone locked indoors for ever. Photo: Midlands

HEROES: Phil Adlam (pictured, left) and Joe Dent: The Posh press officer is always helpful, always polite and is a proper club fan. His job is a labour of love and he willingly takes on roles not obviously connected to his media work. Phil has been an enthusiastic presence throughout the club's school initiatives and he was out and about helping to deliver foor parcels to those in need before Christmas. A credit to the club as is his regular sidekick photographer Joe Dent.

HERO: Chris Brewer. There can't have been a tougher year to be in charge of the Posh ticketing arrangements, but Twitter is often full of praise from fans for the service Chris and his team provide. Season ticket and matchday ticket issues and complicated refund options have landed in his in-tray, but he has coped admirably with it all.

HERO: Flynn Clarke. As celebrity Posh fan Adrian Durham of talkSPORT said 'Flynn Clarke for breaking through, being brilliant, being a fantasy 'Number 10' player, keeping the Posh family tradition going, and giving hope to all local kids. Flynn, the grandson of former Posh player Colin Clarke, made his Posh debut at 17 this season and scored a brilliant goal at Cambridge United which is always decent on a Posh CV. Photo: Midlands
