Peterborough United Women have their first international player
Posh Women have signed their first international player.
Forward Crista Chetcuti Ganado has moved to Posh from the Leicester City Academy. Ganado, who has been part of England youth squads in the past, made her first senior start for Malta earlier this year.

Posh have also signed defender Camille Jenkins from National League Northern Premier Division rivals Stoke City.
Posh boss Jake Poole said: "Crista is an exciting young talent. She is really ambitious and that ambition really matches what we are doing here.
"It is a privilege that she has decided to continue her footballing journey with us and we are excited to see how she does for both club and country.
"And Camille will bring Tier 3 experience from her time with Derby and Stoke. She is versatile and she can play in a number of different positions, which will be important for us.”
Ganado said "I am looking forward to the new challenge and can't wait to get started. It will be a competitive league, but it is one that I am looking forward to testing myself in."
Jenkins added: “I feel this is the perfect environment for me and the girls have been really welcoming. It feels a good time to be joining as there is a really good atmosphere amongst the squad following promotion and they look ready to compete in Tier 3. It is a competitive division and I know what to expect.”
Posh have now bolstered a squad that went unbeaten when winning the National Midlands Division One title last season with three new players. Midfielder Remy Saunders was the first new arrival, also from the Leicester City Academy.
Posh Women have established a new board to aid the club in their first season at National Northern Premier Division level.
Posh Academy manager Dan Robinson, club sponsor LIsa Weston of WM Legal, long-term fan Derek Meakins, Shaun Harley, the commercial director of MOTiQ and the chairman of the Football vs Cancer charity, and former women’s player Meg Lawlor will assist club director Iain Crawford in moving the team forward.
Robinson has been involved with the New Zealand’s women’s team, Harley has been involved in local women's football for many years, while Lawlor retired as a player at the end of last season after helping Posh rise through the divisions. Meakins will be responsible for the matchday experience at PIMS Park.
