Peterborough United tie another young star to a long-term contract at London Road
Peterborough United youth team star Patryk Sykut has signed a long-term professional contract at the club.
The 17 year-old has starred in a number 10 role, earning particular praise for his performance in a 1-0 FA Youth Cup defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this year.

Sykut said: "First and foremost, I want to say a big thank you to my family and the coaches at the club who have helped me get to this point. It is a great feeling to be signing a professional contract with this club.
"It has been a real journey for me since I joined, but I feel that in the last 12 months or so, I have been able to kick on and in the position that I play, I know that I have to impact the game with assists and goals.
"Playing at Old Trafford in the Youth Cup was a brilliant experience for me and for all of the squad, it gives you a taste of what is required at the highest level. I am looking forward to the second half of the campaign. We are in a great position in the league within the Under 21 group."
Posh Academy director Dan Robinson said: "It is fantastic to see another one of our players coming through the schoolboy programme and then progressing into the youth team and doing so well. Patryk has been rewarded for his efforts and it is another great example of the pathway for our players here at Peterborough United."
Posh have also tied youth team stars Bolu Shofowoke and Lucca Mendonca to long-term pro deals with chairman Darragh MacAnthony predicting all three will be first-team squad regulars next season.
Posh Under 21s have a Professional Development League game at Wigan Athletic on Tuesday (1pm kick off).
