Peterborough United pride in the performance a young squad at Peterborough Sports

Academy coach Ryan Semple was proud of the young Peterborough United team that stood up to a physical test at Peterborough Sports on Tuesday night.

Posh sent a very young squad to PIMS Park, plus transfer-listed players Klaidi Lolos and Donay O’Brien-Brady, and returned with a 1-0 win courtesy of a David Kamara goal just after half-time.

Posh Academy prospect Aaron Sudakaran, who is 15, played the final 30 minutes as did Nathaniel Joseph, who is only 16.

“We started young and finished even younger,” Academy coach Ryan Semple said. “I knew a few fans turned up expecting to see some more established players and more familiar faces, but we are renowned for the young players we develop.

"We were giving away, strength, speed and a lot of years, but there were so many positive to take from the performance. It was the first competitive game against men for a lot of them. We made a lot of changes throughout the game which meant things became bitty at times

"There were a lot of tough moments, but this is how we learn and this is why we have trained so hard in Spain and back home and we are grateful to Peterborough Sports for having us.”
