Peterborough United manager on the last week of the summer transfer window
Peterborough United boss Luke Williams has confirmed work is continuing on the quest to make more new signings before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony hinted on the latest edition of his ‘Hard Truth’ podcast two more new players could arrive. That would bring the total of summer signings to 10. A forward to support star centre-forward Harry Leonard and a central defender to cover for long-term injury victim Sam Hughes are thought to be the targets.

Posh have been linked with a move for AFC Fylde striker Danny Ormerod.
Williams also spoke about the future of transfer-listed players in the current first-team squad. Chris Conn-Clarke and George Nevett were involved in Saturday’s win over Mansfield Town.
Williams, who was speaking at a press conference ahead of the second round Carabao Cup tie at Watford on Tuesday, said: “There is loads of work going on re potential new additions, but It would be wrong to give you names.
"And we place players on the transfer list to show other clubs we are prepared to do business. It’s not the case we think the players on the list are poor players, far from it. It could be we just need to make changes in the squad.
"Out transfer listed players are all training well and if they stay we will use them. There is no harm to us in doing that. It could be we get too good an offer for players and they leave, but if they don’t we will just carry on with them.”
