Matchwinner Harry passed the praise around the team after a vital Peterborough United victory
Peterborough United match-winner Harry Leonard was happy to pass the praise around the team after a dramatic 2-1 League One win over Mansfield Town at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday.
Leonard struck the winning goal deep into added time to get Posh off the mark for the season. Ben Woods had earlier seen his second goal for the club cancelled out by a simple finish from Mansfield striker Michael Smith.

"We deserved to win,” Leonard told the Posh Plus service. “But you always wonder if a winning goal was going to come and thankfully for us it did. It was a great feeling when the ball hit the back of the net. Bolu Shofowoke was brilliant in setting the goal up for me. He did what he’s very good at the end of games by taking on defenders and going past them.
"I had screamed at Bolu for not passing to me a few minutes earlier, but I told him after the game it was nothing personal. He’s a great talent and you know he will beat his man when he’s one-on-one with them. He delivered when it mattered and fair play to him for having the composure to pick me out.

"The mentality of the whole team was really good. All over the pitch we were at it and I was buzzing for Ben as he’s probably my best mate at the club. A goal was just what he needed as he had a difficult season last term.
"From my own point of view I gained an extra bit of confidence and I have gone into every game this season expecting to score. I also expect to be beaten up by big defenders, but it’s my job to be a handful and I felt I was in this game.
"It’s a big win for us. Everyone at the club, the players and the staff, needs to experience that winning feeling more often. It’s great for everyone to be able to enjoy their weekend.”
Leonard has scored two goals in the first three Posh games of the season.
