Key Events

  • 3pm kick-off
  • Jonson Clarke-Harris to play after suspension
  • Posh sit 20th, 5 clear of relegation zone
  • Ex-Posh man Russell Martin takes charge of the Swans
  • Ryan Bennett also set to feature

Posh come into this fixture sitting 20th with a 5-point gap to the Championship that has suddenly been built after back-to-back wins. The hosts today sit 16th after impressive wins of their own against Cardiff and West Brom, they were, however, brought back down to earth by a defeat against out of form Birmingham last week.

Russell Martin has made them a steady side, who see a lot of the ball in matches, alot like his MK Dons side and in this case aswell, they could do with being more ruthless upfront. They have conceded 17 and scored 15. A win for Posh would draw the sides level but the inferior goal difference would keep them below the Swans.

Like many this season, these two sides have not shared a pitch much in recent years. Jim Gannon was the Posh boss the last time this was a league fixture and in that he gave a professional debut to a 17-year-old Nathan Karoteng, remember him?

Posh better be careful as Matthew Donohue is the man in the middle. He has shown a red card in four of his ten games this season. Forest boss Steve Cooper laid into him last Saturday, accusing him of not being ready after being brought into the game at the last minute and he was agitated and how many fouls he claims he missed, particularly a particularly blatant foul for Fulham’s first.

Welcome to today’s live coverage as Posh make the extremely long trip to Swansea. Make sure you don’t forget your Covid pass!

Posh head into the match looking to win three consecutive second tier matches for only the third time in history. Confidence is sure to be high after finally breaking the run of away defeats last time out at Hull. Can Posh put on a show for the travelling fans? Let’s hope so.
