Victory would be Posh’s third over the same opponents this season after 2-1 and 2-0 wins in the league and FA Cup respectively.

They will have to do it without young star Ricky-Jade Jones though after he picked up a shoulder injury against Swansea.

The club will also have to be careful with Sammie Szmodics after he looked to limp off in the same game, having only just returned from injury.

International call ups for Posh players

QPR come into this sitting in 6th but after slipping down from 3rd after a poor spell of form that has seen them win only twice in their last 9 game. They include defeats to Barnsley and Cardiff, plus a draw at home to Hull.

Last 6 (most recent) Nottingham Forest 3-1 QPR

Luton 1-2 QPR

QPR 1-2 Cardiff

Blackburn 1-0 QPR

QRP 2-1 Blackpool

QPR 1-1 Hull

QPR goalkeeping crisis

QPR welcomed a new face yesterday, bringing in 37-year-old Keiren Westwood after Mark Warbuton.

David Marshall has been the number one in recent weeks, with regular stopper Seny Dieng out injured. Jordan Archer and Joe Walsh are also injured, so it was a disaster when Marshall was forced off with a hamstring injury against Nottingham Forest last time out. Left back Lee Wallace had to finish the game in goal.

Westwood will debut today, so Posh better get in some shots on target to test him out.

Good news about Jones!

Yesterday’s results

Derby 1-1 Coventry

Sheffield United 2-0 Barnsley

Bristol City 2-2 West Brom

Huddersfield 0-3 Bournemouth

Hull 1-3 Luton

Reading 1-0 Blackburn

Stoke 2-0 Millwall

Swansea 0-0 Birmingham

In a slightly different time to usual, Posh head off on the road for a 12:30 kick off in London. With teams around them picking up points in recent weeks, Posh really can’t afford anything else but an unlikely victory.

Find out of they can do it right here.
