Peterborough United manager accuses Baggies boss of a lack or respect after stormy finale; ‘He needs to calm down, he’s been to one play-off, he’s not Pep Guardiola’
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson accused West Bromwich Albion manager Valerien Ismael of a ‘lack of respect’ after the Baggies beat Posh 1-0 in a Championship fixture at the Weston Homes Stadium last night (August 28).
Perhaps it would not quite be a miracle but...
Posh’s away record is well-documented now. One win and 11 defeats this season, six scored and conceded 33 but West Brom are hardly pulling up any trees with what is one of the best squads in the league.
The Baggies back Ismael to get them into the big time and he is choosing to go about it in the same way his Barnsley side did. They will likely bombard the box today, a tactic that has seen them score just the 31 goals in 26 games. Their top scorer is Karlan Grant on 9, well below his peers at the top end of the table such as Mitorvic (27), Brereton (20), Solanke (18) or even Godden (10). They have scored more than once in just one of their last 12 games.
They do have the league’s best defence though, only conceding 20. Can Posh keep it tight and frustrate them?

Welcome!
