Barry Fry and Birmingham City: ‘They wanted Chubby Brown, they got Bazza, a naked b********* from Karren Brady, Wembley winner, title winner, and taking a leak to get rid of a St Andrews curse’

Record breaker
Darren Ferguson proud to beat a Peterborough United managerial record held by the ‘great Barry Fry’
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson will break Barry Fry’s club record of 491 competitive games as manager when Birmingham City visit the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (September 18).
Record breaker Fergie!
In amongst it all, it must not be forgotten that today is an important day for Darren Ferguson. It is the day he passes Barry Fry’s record of 491 competitive matches managed for Posh as he goes into his 492nd.
Over his three spells he has led the club to great success, including becoming the only man to win four promotions with the club, along with JPT success at Wembley. In terms of wins, he far outranks Fry with 221 to 168.
Players to watch
Posh are going to have to be right up for the aerial and physical battle today as Birmingham are packing some power upfront. It it likely Troy Deeney will make his first start today and with all his Premier League experience and know-how, he will be a real nuisance in this league, even if he doesn't top the goal scoring charts. The Blues also have experiences heads Lukas Jutkiewicz and Scott Hogan alongside him but can back all that power up with the pure skill and pace of Tahith Chong, who has been one of the standout Championship players of the season so far. The Man United winger has proved hard for defences to stop and Butler will have a tough ask this afternoon to keep him quiet.
Posh’s poor run of form is well-documented this but Birmingham come into after a solid start, even if they did receive a jolt in midweek. Considering that Lee Bowyer took them over deep in relegation trouble last season, they will be happy sitting in 10th after two wins and a draw in their last five and the two defeats came against Fulham and Bournemouth, two of the promotion favourites. They are also unbeaten on the road this season.
Past 5 in the league
15/09 Birmingham 1-4 Fulham
10/09 Birmingham 2-0 Derby
28/08 Barnsley 1-1 Birmingham
21/08 Luton 0-5 Birmingham
18/08 Birmingham 0-2 Bournemouth
