Sammie Szmodics was set to start but Jonson Clarke-Harris has become available after Posh appealed his four game ban for historic tweets.

Posh go in search of their first ever victory at The Ricoh Arena and will have to upset the odds to do it given Coventry are flying high in fourth place and haven’t lost a home league game all season.

Posh need half-time now. A long ball catches them sleeping again, Ronnie is beaten in the air by Gyokeres, who knocks down for Waghorn in the D. He’s lucky Waghorn panics and wildly slashes a shot over the bar, he had time and space.

Cornell is rooted to the spot and can only breath a sigh of relief that Hamer’s effort goes inches above his crossbar.

Freekick centre of goal just infront the D. Butler and Thompson double team O;Hare as he rampaged through the centre of the Posh defemce. Butler takes the yellow.

Great chance, Clarke-Salter puts a ball into the penalty spot, Kent goes for it under pressure from Gyokeres and misses it Butler has been caught ball-watching nad has let Kane drift into freespace on the right. He takes a touch too many and invited Butler to step in and put the shot, that goes wide, under pressure but that was a great opening.

Hmmmmm. Heart in mouth moment. Maatsen finding space on the right again, skips round Thompson and across comes Ward to put his body between man and ball, he does so quite forcibly and Maatsen ends up on the ground. Ref had a great view but waves away the penalty shouts.

Concern as Thompson goes down after that move, physio comes to to take a look but he;s back up now and seems fine. His leg was the area of concern.

Now the chances are coming, Kane slides a ball across the face of goal. Cornell at close to the corner of the 6-yard box with Gyokeres. He’s go alside of Butler and it only needs a touch and it’s a goal but a mixture between the two put him off enough to prevent him from getting it.

Slack pass from Dembele is his own half puts Posh in troubles. Hamer picks up and probably could take it further than he does, instead he chooses to shoot from 30 yards and the ball flies over Cornell’s bar. Could have been a lot worse.

Not been much action to speak of in the last 5 or so minutes the teams trading spells of possession in non-threatening areas before losing the ball. Coventry seeing perhaps more if it.
