Sammie Szmodics was set to start but Jonson Clarke-Harris has become available after Posh appealed his four game ban for historic tweets.

Posh go in search of their first ever victory at The Ricoh Arena and will have to upset the odds to do it given Coventry are flying high in fourth place and haven’t lost a home league game all season.

Another poor ball in from Hamer. Over everyone this time.

Corner again, Ronnie tries to chest down Maatsen’s cross but it’s too heavy

Taken short to O’Hare to play a 1-2 with Hamer and he puts it right into Cornell’s hands.

Kent with a brilliant interception again after stepping out of defence to flatten Waghorn. Grant was too week and lost the ball dawdling with his back to goal on halfway. Coventry now win first corner.

Posh sitting off and trying to be a stubborn obstacle when Coventry have the ball. They hold the shape but Coventry more often than not are coming up with a good pass and key blocks from Edwards and Kent have been relied upon from ranged shots.

A few fortunate bounces going Posh’s way at the moment. Edwards doesn’t do enough to clear Maatsen’s cross and it gets worked across to Kane at RWB to put it back in, Taylor falls over as he intercepts and but the ball deflects about an inch too far in-front of Waghorn on its way to Cornell.

Posh having more of a say in the game now. Finding their own space out wide, Butler has the freedom of the park to try and pick out JCH in the box but it goes into the hands of Moore.

Thompson’s eyes absolutely lit up for a moment. Posh swing in a free-kcik from the left. Kent gets up but it beaten to it by McFadzean. Thompson is waiting on the edge of the area all alone though and tries a volley, unfortunately for him, he shanks it so far wide.

Oh heck. Ropey moment for Posh, long ball up field chased and picked up in the corner by Gyokeres. Ronnie goes over to that side but lets him get out and grabs a fist full of his shirt for good measure as he makes for the box, he lets go just in time but Gyokeres is able to find O’Hare, who sees his shit from a tight angle saved by Cornell and that ricochet back off him for a goalkick.

All of the early Coventry pressure and balls coming in are from Butler’s side, he’s not getting tight enough to Kane.
