Have Peterborough United found another dynamic duo strike partnership?
Recent signing Danny Ormerod and top scorer Harry Leonard started a Posh game for the first time together in the thrilling Tuesday night Carabao Cup win over Barnsley at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Ormerod headed his first two Posh goals after Leonard had struck his fifth goal of the season with a poacher’s finish in a game that finished 3-3 after 90 minutes. Both then converted their spot-kicks in a penalty shootout Posh won 7-6.
It was a full debut for 20 year-old Ormerod who hopes the new strike partnership did enough to be kept together. Posh have a League One basement battle against Doncaster Rovers at London Road on Saturday (3pm kick off).
“I’m absolutely buzzing,” Ormerod, a £600k signing from National League Fylde, told the Posh Plus service after the game. “I’m delighted with a brace and at getting off the mark for the club.
"I scored quite a few headers in my time at Fylde, including two this season. The first ball in from Harley Mills was the sort a striker would want all game and it was just about making sure I converted the chance.
"For the second one it was another great cross from Harley. I could have done anything with it, but I glanced into the corner as a more powerful header might have gone wide.
"I had been disappointed to miss a ono-on-one chance just before I did score. I had a lot of time, probably too much, and the goalkeeper had left quite a lot of the goal to aim at, but I knew I would get other chances and I’m more than happy with two goals.
"Harry and I went through a lot of pre-match work on alternation positions and we did quite well together so hopefully we can carry on doing that.
"I knew I would score goals here because of the number of chances the team creates, but it has been a big step up for me so I’m just happy to get off the mark. I used to take penalties for Fylde so I knew where I was going to put mine in the shootout.
"My father and brother are big Manchester United fans so that would be the dream draw, but any top six club away from home would do. I’d be buzzing to play at a big stadium.”
