Goal king Harry has been backed, but Peterborough United are friendless in the betting markets
Peterborough United striker Harry Leonard has been backed to win the League One Golden Boot prize in the 2026-27 season.
Leonard is currently third favourite with most major bookmakers to be the third tier’s top scorer. He scored 16 goals in 37 League One appearances for a Posh side that finished 18th last season.

Bet Victor are offering a best price of 16-1 on Leonard to top the charts. They have him as fourth favourite after Reading’s former Posh striker Jack Marriott (6-1), Plymouth’s Bim Pepple (8-1) and Stockport County’s Kyle Wootton (14-1).
Marriott, who won the Golden Boot with Posh in the 2017-18 season, is the current top scorer courtesy of an opening day hat-trick against Luton Town, but he is notoriously injury prone and Pepple has been tipped to leave Home Park this summer.
Leonard has scored four goals in the first four Posh games of the season, three in the Carabao Cup and one in League One.
Recent Posh form has not persuaded punters to back them for major League One honours though.
Posh started the season at 40-1 to win the title with Sky Bet and you can now get 125-1! Posh are 25-1 to get promoted (Cambridge United are 11-1) and 10-1 to finish in the top six. Posh 13-8 second favourites behind AFC Wimbledon (6-5) to be relegated.
Meanwhile the betarades super computer BETSIE – a model that apparently simulates the league season 100,000 times, accounting for all match results from pre-season and the previous campaign. It also projects outcomes based on pre-season expectations, fixture difficulty, and underlying performance metrics such as xG for and against – believes Posh are in for a season of struggle.
BETSIE finishing order: 1 Leicester, 2 Luton, 3 Sheffield Wednesday, 4 Huddersfield, 5 Oxford, 6 Stockport, 7 MK Dons, 8 Plymouth, 9 Bradford, 10 Orient, 11 Wycombe, 12 Blackpool, 13 Cambridge, 14 Stevenage, 15 Reading, 16 Notts C, 17 Mansfield, 18 Wigan, 19 Doncaster, 20 Burton, 21 POSH, 22 Barnsley, 23 Bromley, 24 AFC Wimbledon.
