First-team boss insists it's a privilege to work for Peterborough United as he commits to an attacking brand of football
First-team manager Luke Williams insists it’s a privilege to work for Peterborough United.
Williams is currently with his players in Spain at a pre-season training camp. Posh tackle a behind-closed doors friendly tonight (Tuesday) against as yet unnamed opponents before playing Saudi Pro League side SC Neom on Friday. The squad returns to the UK on Saturday and then take on Colchester United at the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday, July 21 in their first friendly in this country.

Williams spoke to the Posh Plus service about the style of football he expects his team to play as they prepare to improve on two disappointing League One seasons.
“We want an attacking brand of football, but not at the expense of defensive solidity,” Williams said. “It sounds like we are asking for the world, but we must push really hard and become the best product possible.
"We want commitment in every single game without any dips. We are all privileged to work at this club. We get to compete in leagues and in cups where there is a shot at glory, but we have to take the responsibility of playing for this club seriously and work hard to deliver more consistent performances next season.
"It was very disappointing the way last season petered out, but we had picked up so many points so quickly we actually completed the job we had been brought in to do very quickly.
"The players are already working hard to give us the best possible chance of starting the season well. Time will tell.”
Posh were bottom of League One when Williams arrived in October last year. They climbed as high as eighth before eventually finishing in 18th for the second successive season.
