Ex-Peterborough United midfielder delivered the knockout blow in big FA Cup shock, striker on course for another Golden Boot and a centre-back out for the season

For the second round running a former Peterborough United player delivered a knockout blow in a big FA Cup shock.

Isaac-Buckley Ricketts was a headline act in the third round when National League North side Macclesfield beat Premier League Crystal Palace and on fourth round day it was the turn of Mansfield Town midfielder Louis Reed.

Reed scored a stunning goal direct from a free-kick 10 minutes from time as the League One ‘The Stags’ came from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at Premier League Burnley.

Elsewhere former Posh Golden Boot winner Jack Marriott is now joint top scorer in League One after his hat-trick for Reading in a 3-2 home win over Wycombe Wanderers. It’s 15 goals for the season now for Marriott, the same as Kyle Wootton (Stockport) and Dom Ballard (Orient).

Centre-back Carl Piergianni, who made one fleeting appearance for Posh as a youngster, scored the only goal as Stevenage beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 in a game between League One play-off contenders.

And ex-Posh loanee defender Kell Watts was on target as Cambridge United beat Steve Evans’ Bristol Rovers 3-1 in a League Two match at the Abbey Stadium. ‘The Us’ are now second in the table.

There is bad news concerning former Posh centre-back Josh Knight who is now at Championship side Portsmouth. His back injury is now expected to keep him out for the season.
