Dale Vince announces he is suing Peterborough United and Robbie Savage for £2 million to compensate for being 'cheated' out of a buyout clause

Forest Green Rovers owner Dale Vince has announced he is suing Peterborough United and their manager Robbie Savage for £2 million.

Vince has been on Sky Sports News this morning (Friday) as his feud with Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony escalated.

The pair have been at loggerheads since Robbie Savage left Forest Green for Posh at the beginning of October with MacAnthony denying claims of an illegal approach.

At the end of the Sky interview on Friday Vince was asked if he had sorted his issues out with Posh and he revealed he is suing the club and Savage for £2 million which was the buyout clause in the latter’s contract.

Vince was on the programme primarily to talk about his idea to putting in 60 plants in the Forest Green Rovers dressing room to help de-stress his players.

But he was then asked about the ongoing row with Posh and he dropped his lawsuit bombshell.

Vince said: “It’s not all sorted. It’s now gone legal and we are suing Peterborough and Robbie Savage for £2 million which was the buy out clause we were cheated out of. That process started last week.

“What has come to light in the last two weeks is an abundance of evidence of an approach made by the chairman of Peterborough himself, while he’s been denying any such approach was made.

"That’s quite aggrieving really. I know people will say ‘it’s just football’, but we shouldn’t just shrug our shoulders and allow badness to happen

The PT understands Posh were unaware of any legal claims. It’s not thought club officials will make any public comment today, although they have been asked to comment.
